Day 1: Flying into Atlanta for Braves Opening Day
We flew into Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) from Raleigh-Durham (RDU) early in the morning, so excited for an unforgettable Atlanta Braves Opening Day Itinerary.
After landing, we picked up our Avis rental car, which made getting around Atlanta quick and easy, and headed straight into the city for brunch before checking in at The Battery Atlanta.
Brunch at Atlanta Breakfast Club & Exploring Downtown
Our first stop was Atlanta Breakfast Club, a can’t-miss brunch spot filled with warm Southern charm. From their famous chicken and waffles to peach-topped French toast, it was the perfect way to start our trip. Delish!
After breakfast, we walked over to the World of Coca-Cola to explore interactive exhibits, see vintage memorabilia, and taste Coke flavors from around the world — a fun stop before heading to The Battery Atlanta.
Checking In at The Beautiful Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta
Next, we made our way to The Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta, our home base for the weekend — and truly the best place to stay for any Braves fan. You can walk straight from the lobby into Truist Park, which makes it incredibly convenient on game day.

Our room was absolutely gorgeous — modern, comfortable, and with a perfect view of the ballpark right outside our balcony. The excitement of Opening Day filled the air below as fans began gathering in The Battery.
From the moment we arrived, we realized we didn’t need to leave the hotel. Everything — food, shops, live music, and pre-game festivities — was right there at our doorstep.
Afternoon Fun at The Battery Atlanta
After settling in, we spent the afternoon in the Omni Hotel pool and then exploring The Battery — a lively mix of restaurants, shops, and entertainment surrounding Truist Park. We stopped into the Braves Clubhouse Store for Opening Day gear, browsed boutiques, and grabbed ice cream at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams before the game.
As music filled the plaza and fans poured in, the excitement was contagious. The Battery truly comes alive on opening weekend.
Day 2: Workout, Breakfast & Truist Park Tour
The next morning started with a quick workout in the Omni’s fitness center followed by breakfast at their beautiful on-site restaurant, which overlooks the ballpark. With lattes in hand and sunshine streaming through the windows, it was the perfect way to start our second day at The Battery.
After breakfast, we took a Truist Park Tour — and it was a huge highlight.
Our group was small, giving us the chance to experience the entire stadium from top to bottom.

We explored the dugout, luxury clubs, press areas, and even stepped inside the commentators’ box for a behind-the-scenes look at how game day really works.
The views from every level were incredible, and learning the history of the Braves made us appreciate Opening Day even more.
Following the tour, we spent the afternoon back in The Battery Atlanta, soaking up all the Opening Day excitement before the game — live music, fan zones, giveaways, and endless Braves pride.
Opening Day at Truist Park
Once gates opened, we walked from the Omni directly into Truist Park to soak up the full Opening Day experience. We caught batting practice, snapped photos, and took in the pre-game festivities. From the national anthem to the flyover, it’s the kind of baseball moment that gives you goosebumps.
We checked out the Sandlot for kids. An area filled with a rock wall, zipline, and carnival games. It says online that reservations are often necessary for the kids’ activities; however, there was not more than a ten-minute wait when we visited.
The stadium was absolutely beautiful—buzzing with energy as fans filled the stands.
Just as the excitement peaked, the Star-Spangled Banner began to play, and the whole crowd fell silent for that special opening day moment.
Dinner and Post-Game Fun at The Battery
After the final pitch, we joined the celebration outside the gates. The Battery at night is electric — music, food, fans, and laughter everywhere.
We enjoyed dinner at Sports & Social, one of the best post-game spots, and toasted to an amazing Opening Day before walking just steps back to our hotel room at the Omni. We never left the Omni or The Battery once we arrived; there was simply so much to do. We really did not need a rental car. This is a view from our hotel room balcony looking at the field.
Day 3: Heading Home to RDU
On our third day, we packed up, grabbed coffee to go, and took one last look out the window at Truist Park before heading back to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for our flight to RDU.
It was the perfect ending to a fun-filled baseball getaway — easy flights, a convenient hotel, great food, and memories we’ll talk about every time the Braves play at home.

Flying into Atlanta for Braves Opening Day was an unforgettable experience — from breakfast downtown to the energy of The Battery and the comfort of the Omni’s baseball-view rooms.
